Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of awareness. The power of Kundalini Yoga lies in the actual experience. It goes right to your heart and extends your consciousness so you may have a wider horizon of grace and knowing the truth. We will discuss the basics of Kundalini Yoga including breathwork, meditation, kriyas, mantras, and chanting which will focus on healing the heart center. This workshop includes a yoga practice with live music and is suitable for all levels.

In addition, you will immerse yourself in the healing sounds of the gong tuned to the planet Uranus and healing the Sacral Chakra, balancing emotions. The gong is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Based on ancient wisdom, the gong vibrates at the same frequency as the body allowing the body to heal itself. The gong balances the central nervous system and aids in deep meditation. Singing crystal and Tibetan bowls will also be added to raise the vibration and heighten the experience.

Jenny Bergold (Jagatjeet Kaur) has been practicing yoga for eighteen years and teaching for eight. Jenny discovered yoga to calm the body and strengthen the mind. Jenny has her 200 Hour Hatha certification from Heaven Meets Earth Yoga in Evanston, IL and her 200 Hour Kundalini certification from Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago, IL.  Jenny's classes focus on the mind and meditation, healing the body through asana, and uplifting the spirit through inspiration.

Sat Nam Rasayan® is an ancient yogic healing approach that makes it possible to heal through a meditative state where we empty ourselves and allow what is. One modality within Sat Nam Rasayan® is the elements. “In the yogic science they found out that … it is the imbalance of the tattvas, which creates the psychological imbalance.” – Yogi Bhajan 7/30/87

The tattvas are the elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. With life’s pressures, changing situations, and our own thoughts about what is and what should be, there are many factors which can throw us out of balance. Where we are physically, emotionally, and mentally shows up in the balance (or imbalance) of our elements. Not enough earth? It may be difficult to stay grounded. If there’s a lot of fire, you’re easily agitated. When fire is balanced it supports enthusiasm and passion. And to stimulate digestion, fire is vital. The elements can be used to calm the emotions, think clearly, deeply relax, be compassionate, and lots more.

In this workshop, through meditation and healing exercises, we will explore the elements, how we embody them, and how to balance them.

Hargopal Kaur Khalsa has journeyed from Physics to metaphysics, studying space in the infinitesimal realm to the space in which our planet inhabits, and the space of existence and relationships. For the last few years  Spirit Rising Foundation has partnered with I Grow Chicago to provide holiday gifts to children in the Englewood neighborhood, to help brighten their holidays.

I Grow Chicago operates a community Peace House in Englewood and they offer community gardening, after-school tutoring, children’s yoga, and summer camps. Our goal is to sponsor 30 children with nice gifts this year. 

Gifts will be distributed by a Santa that is appearing at I Grow on 12/18. We invite you to purchase and wrap a gift for a child aged 2-16, (value $20-30) and mark the age and gender. Gifts may be dropped off at Spirit Rising Yoga by Friday, 12/16, 7 pm. We’ll deliver them to I Grow for distribution.

It begins with recitation of, Japji then Yoga and then at exactly 5am we join our worldwide community andsimultaneously chant Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru for 11 minutes.

Morning sadhana continues with 2.5 hours chanting Long Ek Ong Kar (Morning Call). If you haven’t experienced this sadhana before, this is a perfect opportunity.

If your schedule requires flexibility, you are welcome to come and go as as you please.

Yogi Tea will be served during and after sadhana and we will share in what always turns out to be a delicious light dish to pass breakfast.

40-Day Aquarian Community Sadhana

Special 40 Day Practice, Aquarian Sadhana is scheduled for 2/28/16 – 4/7/16.

During these 40 days Community Sadhana will be held at Spirit Rising Yoga Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 4:30-6:45 am and at Sat Nam Yoga, 1304 W. Washington Blvd., on Mondays & Thursdays from 4-6:15 am.

The Trainees at Spirit Rising Yoga's Level 1 Teacher Training practice Aquarian Sadhana for 40 consecutive mornings as a part of their Training. We support them by having Group Sadhana during those 40 days.at Spirit Rising Yoga Center and Sat Nam Yoga.

All are invites to share this experience. No experience necessary! YogiJi said "Get up, dress up, show up, keep up!"

You can come and go as you please, for example some folks have to go to work or have kids that have to get to school. We look forward to seeing you in the Ambrosial Hours!
